Aice Group Continues the Youth Pledge Spirit
On October 28, 1928, young people from various regions and tribes in Indonesia gathered to voice one determination: one nation, one homeland, and one language. They vowed to unite Indonesia, even though at that time it was still under colonialism. With a background of differences in language, culture, and customs, they showed that differences are not obstacles to unity. What's cool is that their oath became one of the important milestones towards independence. The meaning of the Youth Pledge for the current generation, especially in professional life at the Aice Group, can be an inspiration in many aspects, considering that the Aice Group as a multinational company has personnel with diverse cultural backgrounds and a vision to provide quality, innovative, delicious and trendy products for everyone.

Joint Struggle to Seize HSE Certification
The morning was still in its early light when Retno Wulandari, affectionately known as Wulan, stepped out. As usual, a single glass of warm water was her faithful companion before she began her busy day. After her morning prayer, Wulan swiftly checked the containers of spices and ingredients, ensuring everything was ready to prepare a healthy breakfast for her small family.
"Every minute is precious," she thought. There was no time to relax; to her, each second was an opportunity to pour love into her husband and child. Every morning, she had to lay out clothes, wash the dishes from the night before, prepare breakfast, tidy the house, and bathe her child. Wulan carried out each task with a smile. Despite the seemingly endless demands, her face always radiated energy and warmth.
At 6:45 a.m., the whole family prepared to leave the house. A heaviness filled her heart as she dropped her child off at daycare, but she knew it was the best choice for the sake of their dreams and happiness.
“It’s tough leaving my child at daycare, but it’s for the greater good,” she said, calming herself. Fortunately, her child was beginning to understand and was even excited to play with friends at daycare.
Since joining Alpen Factory on March 18, 2019, Wulan has been known for her exceptional dedication. As the only occupational health and safety (K3) staff member at that time, her responsibilities were immense. She was tasked with building the K3 system from scratch to create a safe working environment for everyone.
It didn’t take long for the company to recognize her tenacity. During her first year, Wulan was trusted to lead the annual Medical Check-Up (MCU) project, a concrete expression of the company’s commitment to employee health. “I was so thrilled to be trusted with the annual MCU,” she recalled, her eyes sparkling.
Her greatest challenge came when she was entrusted with developing the K3 Management System (SMK3). This was no small feat. From planning to implementation, she worked tirelessly with her team to ensure every detail was executed perfectly, from improving work areas and preparing necessary documentation to audit preparations.
Eventually, Alpen Factory ultimately achieved SMK3 certification with an outstanding score of 90.36%.
Wulan’s core responsibility is to ensure that all safety equipment functions properly—a duty she carries out with love and a deep sense of responsibility. Her goal is to make sure every employee returns home safely, just as she hopes to always return home safely to her own family.
For Wulan, time is like a double-edged sword—it must be used wisely for the greater good. Amid her busy schedule and the many challenges, she carves out a life story filled with sincerity and dedication, becoming a role model for others. She embodies the strength of a mother who serves tirelessly, both for her family and for her company. [AHA]

Growing Together, Supporting One Another
Her name is Deasy Leorenza. To her colleagues, Deasy is more than just a coworker; she is a tireless presence, always radiating sincerity and an extraordinary spirit. Since joining Aice in 2021, back when the factory had just been established, Deasy has shown unwavering dedication. She started from the ground up when the work environment was far from comfortable. The factory was filled with dust, and puddles of water were everywhere, yet Deasy never wavered. Day after day, she worked shoulder to shoulder with us, cleaning floors, clearing scattered materials, and ensuring the factory was ready for operation. Watching her then, her coworkers knew she wasn’t just working—she was truly pouring her heart into this place.
Working with Deasy, her colleagues learned countless things. During tough times, Deasy often emerged as the strongest among them. Even when heavy tasks kept coming, she kept smiling, encouraging everyone that any challenge could be tackled if they faced it together. By her second year, as she gained a deeper understanding of her work, Deasy transformed into someone more mature and confident. She faced every problem with her head held high, even if it meant admitting mistakes. “Every mistake is a lesson,” she would say. Through Deasy, we learned not to fear trying, despite the risk of error.
At one point, Deasy was entrusted to lead a team. The responsibility was huge, but Deasy embraced it wholeheartedly. She didn’t just give orders; she listened, nurtured, and created an environment where her team members could grow together. They often saw her staying at work until late, not only to complete her own tasks but also to ensure her team could finish theirs. She offered support in every form—advice, encouragement, or simply a comforting smile.
Now, three years on, Deasy has become an invaluable part of the team. She’s more than a coworker; she’s family. For Deasy, Aice is a home she has helped build with love and sincerity. Her colleagues are frequently inspired by her hard work and dedication, and whenever challenges arise, they remember how Deasy faced them with a smile and a strong heart.
In our quiet reflections, we all know Aice Sumatra would not be the same without Deasy. She is why this place feels warm, full of spirit, and always memorable. Through her, we learn that growing together, supporting each other, and never giving up are the most valuable things. Thank you, Deasy, for being an inspiration to us. Safeguarding Aice Through the Microscope Lens of the Laboratory
Her name is Ummul Baroroh, though her close friends call her Mba Ummul. To her colleagues, Ummul is tireless, always ready to give her best, even when others around her are still uncertain.
When Ummul first joined Aice in March 2018 as a Laboratory Analyst, she stood out right away, working with unmatched energy and seriousness. Fresh out of her studies in Food Science and Technology, she adapted quickly, showing exceptional dedication.
At that time, the Aice factory in East Java was still under construction. Wet ground, puddles, and dust were part of the daily scene. Ummul and her teammates, initially surprised, quickly rolled up their sleeves, working together to sweep the dust, clean the floors, move bricks, and make sure every corner was tidy. Every day, she showed up with a smile and boundless energy. No task was ever too heavy for her. A memorable moment was when she and her team tasted their first “Aice Chocolate Stick” ice cream—a sweet reward for their hard work, and a motivating milestone for Ummul.
The year 2023 brought new opportunities for Ummul, as she was entrusted with a role as a Laboratory Purchasing Staff. Though this area was outside her previous experience, she adapted swiftly, building relationships with suppliers and learning procurement strategies.
Later that year, Ummul was given even greater responsibility as a Quality Laboratory Supervisor for not one but two factories. This wasn’t just a promotion; it was proof that she had become an irreplaceable figure, deeply committed to upholding Aice’s product quality and brand values. “It’s tough, for sure, but I just keep my spirits high. At the time, I trusted my manager’s assessment that I was capable,” she said.
Seeing Ummul’s journey over six years at Aice fills her colleagues with pride. She’s known not only as a hard worker but also as an inspiration. Amid her busy schedule, Ummul never fails to lift her team’s spirits, share a laugh, and remind everyone that each day is an opportunity to learn and grow. For her, Aice is more than just a job; it’s her second home.
